Mr Vachaspathi (Vach) Pillutla, aged 46, is the Chief Executive Officer of Al-Ikhsan sports SDN BHD. Vach Pillutla has 25 years of driving retail strategy, execution and P&L management within key emerging markets like India, Middle East, China, Korea, Taiwan and South East Asia across categories of Sports, Lifestyle and Travel & Luggage.

He has been instrumental in rolling out and successfully running more than 2000 stores and Shop-in Shops across international markets for global giants like Adidas , New Balance, VF corporation and Samsonite Corporation prior to joining Al-Ikhsan Sports as its Chief Executive Officer, a role that he took on in January 2017 .

Over the 3 years of being at the helm, he has helped transform the company from a singular sports convenience concept to a multi-category, multi-concept Sporting goods giant with a clearly segmented strategy to address consumers and sports lover across different income groups . Notable licenses that he has brought to the company include Liverpool Football Club license , the Umbro license and strong focus on their own private label AL sport.

Under his leadership, the company has shown a very strong YOY double digit growth in both the sales and profitability and has once again become #1 ranked sports retailer in terms of market share within the sporting goods category in Malaysia. The company launched the first ever online platform in Q1 2020 and has already grown to the rank of No 1 Sports Marketplace for Malaysians.

Under his leadership, the company has been ranked as the 64th largest Sporting Goods Retailer largest Sporting Goods Retailer in the Galaxy and also been awarded was awarded Brand of The Year 2019/2020 by World Branding Awards.
