Kaori Kurobe started her career at Sony Creative Products Incin 1991, working in the International Operations Department, where she initially focused on trading the character merchandises, then moved into a sales and marketing roles as well as licensing covering a number of Asian territories for various licensed and original characters products.

In 1997, Kurobe was appointed as the first Licensing Manager for Royal Doulton Japan to establish and grow its brand licensing program, where she manage everything from development of strategy, contract negotiation, budgetary control, to product development and sales/marketing.

Kurobe then joined The Licensing Company as a general manger to establish and form one of TLC’s global office in Japan in 2000. Since then she has been growing TLC Japan office as only licensing agentspecialized in unique and innovative brand extension program in Japan in alignment with TLC Headquarter in UK and other international offices. The Japan office has been developing successful program of globally renowned brands, such as Mercedes-Benz, Jeep, Michelin, Budweiser, Hershey’s, Playboy, Minecraft, Formula one, etc.as well as entertainment brand such as Sony Pictures and Smurfs for the past over 20 years even after TLC became a member of Global Brands Group in 2014 then now CAA-GBG.

Kurobe was educated in Japan before moving to collage in the USA where she graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication. She speaks two languages and lives in Tokyo.
