As Senior Director, Content & Media Distribution, Mairu Gupta leads the media distribution business for the NBA in India. Gupta also oversees NBA India’s marketing initiatives.

Gupta works on the creation, distribution and marketing of the league’s content in the country. Across broadcast and digital, Mairu works extensively to strategize and build revenue for NBA’s media business. He has helped drive NBA India’s considerable digital footprint through an expansive digital strategy to grow and engage the fan base through localized and innovative content.

Prior to joining NBA India in 2015, Mairu served as the Vice President and Business Head of Jack in the Box Worldwide. In addition to setting up and leading the organization’s New Delhi office, Mairu was responsible for significantly growing the business for the digital communications consultancy. Mairu has also served as the Business Lead for SapientNitro in India (part of Publicis Group).

Prior to his time at SapientNitro, Mairu led FMCG and consumer tech brands as a part of Saachi & Saachi and Rediffusion. With over 9 years of advertising and marketing experience in India and Canada, Mairu has worked on a diverse set of brands and advertising campaigns.

Mairu currently resides in Mumbai, India.
