Betting big on the most awaited movie – Baahubali, Status Quo announced its association with Arka Mediaworks as the official fashion partner for the much awaited Baahubali franchise. This announcement came in just before the release of the highly anticipated second part of the film Baahubali: The Conclusion, which is set to hit the screens on 28th April. Started in 1998, Status Quo is also the official apparel licensee for Emoji, Garfield, and Archie. Aiming to bring to life the Indian Epic - Baahubali through its popular characters like Baahubali, Bhallala Deva & Kattappa, the brand has launched ‘Baahubali’ inspired apparels for men. Black White Orange brokered the deal on behalf of Arka Mediaworks for their national award winning movie Baahubali. The limited edition collection boasts of T-Shirts featuring a range of designs combined with Status Quo’s signature style. The collection will also feature seasonal line updates and is available across key stores like Shoppers Stop and Central. Priced at 899/- INR onwards, the designs include innovations like HD Prints, ombre prints etc. Commenting on the announcement, Bobby Arora, MD, Status Quo said, “The response for Baahubali as a film franchise has been tremendous and we are expecting a similar response to the apparel range especially since South India is a very important market for Status Quo.” “The designs are very unlike any Indian film has seen before. Baahubali: The Beginning’ released in July 2015 in India and Indian diaspora territories has grossed a massive $92 million going on to become second highest grossing Indian movie globally. Backed by larger than life sets, VFX and a huge star cast, the top trending #WhyDidKatappaKillBaahubali, ‘Brand Baahubali’ is targeting 20-25 crore of retail sales alone from their merchandising & licensing revenue. Baahubali is Arka’s most ambitious project till date. A two-part film, Part I – ‘Baahubali: The Beginning’ released in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam simultaneously in 5000 plus screens world-wide and collected over Rs 600 crores at the Box Office.
