Wonder Woman already has superhuman strength, indestructible gauntlets and a magic lasso. And now she’s getting her own stamps as she turns 75. To celebrate Wonder Woman’s 75th anniversary, the US Postal Service, in partnership with Warner Bros. Consumer Products and DC Entertainment, has debuted a series of new stamps dedicated to the superhero. The new stamps, along with other wonder Woman merchandise, was revealed on July 23rd, during Comic-Con in San Diego. The US Postal Service is commemorating the heroine by documenting her evolution on Forever Stamps, with four different versions available. The four stamps depict Wonder Woman in a series of powerful poses. She is shown wielding a huge hammer and leading the charge against injustice with her fist raised. Each stamp depicts Wonder Woman during four eras of comic book history, including the Golden Age (1941 - 1955), Silver Age (1956 - 1972), Bronze Age (1973 - 1986) and Modern Age (1987 - present). Wonder Woman is a founding member of the Justice League, alongside Batman, Superman, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter, Aquaman, and Flash. Depicted as a warrior princess, based on Greek mythological Amazons, she first appeared in October 1941 in a back-up story for All Star Comics 8, when the authors wanted to test the appeal of a female superhero.
