Scopely has launched its newest game experience, “Scrabble GO”, in partnership with Hasbro in North America and Mattel internationally.
The new game will be bringing the official brand, board and dictionaries to life in an all-new, free-to-play experience.
“Scrabble GO” is now available for pre-registration on Google Play. It will be introduced worldwide on Android and iOS later this year.
Tim O’Brien, Chief Revenue Officer at Scopely, said, “Collaborating with Hasbro in North America and throughout the rest of the world with Mattel to further expand this iconic IP has been a privilege. Together we will bring an all-new, visually stunning, highly social, ‘Scrabble GO’ experience to millions of fans around the globe, while also preserving the authenticity of the classic experience they know and love.”
Janet Hsu, Chief Franchise Officer, Mattel, stated, “We are always looking for new ways for consumers to experience the Mattel brands they know and love, and digital gaming is a key part of that strategy. Scrabble is a beloved and iconic game with a dedicated fan following. In partnership with Scopely, we look forward to bringing a best-in-class gameplay experience to an international audience.”
The newly launched game starts a new relationship between Mattel and Scopely. It further expands Scopely’s relationship with Hasbro, which began in 2015 with the Yahtzee mobile game.
Mark Blecher, Senior Vice President, corporate strategy and business affairs, Hasbro, stated, “Interactive gaming is an important part of Hasbro’s brand strategy and we’re excited to expand our relationship with Scopely following the massive success of ‘Yahtzee With Buddies’.”
“Scrabble holds a special place in the hearts of the players who know and love it, and the all-new experience of ‘Scrabble GO’ remains true to the spirit of the brand while challenging fans in novel ways. We can’t wait to reveal the game to audiences throughout North America,” Blecher added.
