The comedic art brand Aunty Acid has launched a worldwide licensing program that now includes greeting cards, mugs, gifts, stationery, calendars and books. The brand which was created to give “the ‘crazy’ old lady in all of us a voice,” features Aunty Acid, and her long suffering husband, Walt. And, launched on social media in 2012, this brand reaches more than 26 million people each week via daily postings, and has more than 10 lakh ‘likes’ on Facebook. This brand’s greeting cards and gifting line were launched earlier this month by its licensee Leanin’ Tree. Aunty Acid merchandise is available in India via e-retailers like Flipkart and Tashan Street. “Aunty Acid is a ‘fresh’ voice of an older generation that appeals to a wide demographic,” said Julie Newman, president, Jewel Branding & Licensing, Aunty Acid’s licensing agent.
