LI: What are your expansion plans for the future in the country?

GS: At the moment, all I can say is that having entered the Indian market, the consequent expansion plans will be followed and executed gradually year by year.

LI: The upper niche-class of the country seems the only realistic target for your market? Do you plan to keep it that way?

Gabriella Saracino :
GS: To begin with, we feel that Versace has a class of its own. We strongly believe that people do not mind spending, if they find the desired quality and brand that would serve as a style statement enhancing their class. The look, quality and the finish of our hand-made products definitely stand out in the crowd. One can easily touch, feel and make out that the product is hand-crafted and exclusive for our valued consumers.

LI: What are the other cities you are targeting for home boutiques and what time period have you set for that?

Gabriella Saracino :
GS: Now that we have entered the Indian market, our plans for further boutiques will take place gradually. We plan to analyze the response in the initial phase by drawing the same from our Delhi boutique. It would be from there on that we will decide as to which cities in the country have the scope where we can expand further.

License India (LI): Is this the first Versace Home boutique in the country? What in your opinion is the potential in the Indian market?

Gabriella Saracino :
Gabriella Saracino (GS): Yes, this is the first Versace Home boutique in Delhi and also, the very first one in the country. There is a definite potential in the Indian market, and the sudden rise of people in the high-class segment has encouraged us to set-up our base here finally. We firmly believe that the Indian market is ready for our home furnishing line. The collection is in tune with what you will get at any Versace store across the globe. Also, the values expressed via the designs offered by us are what the brand truly believes in.
